Hey All! I know that it has been a while, but I have been really busy. Not just have I been dealing with Meadow, I mean Ms. Steven’s personal problems, and also having a hand on making her one of the best dressed of the year, especially in jewelry, since that is my- forte. I also received another internship. That is definitely the life of an intern. It is internship after internship just gaining experience and paying your dues in the corporate world. I was for a couple of months interning for a showroom. And truth be told, I did not know what a showroom was (but don’t tell anyone). Well anyways, I was there learning the ropes and learning the other side of the fashion industry. It was a HUGE! Learning experience. Not only can I apply what I learned there to working with Meadow Stevens, but I can also apply it to life overall.
Life of an Intern

Five months and counting…

Having the privilege to work for Viva Swag, that is.
As Americans, we are constantly reminded (by parents and authority) to keep moving forward with our education and get situated/trapped in a career that pays us well… Because it doesn’t matter if we dislike our job and wake up miserable every day.
Excuse my bitterness, but I am perfectly content with moving backwards. After all, Michael Jackson, May God Rest his Soul, made millions off his Moonwalk.
I Thank Viva Swag once again, for letting me be part of such a unique venture, and teaching me about merchandising, marketing, and PR. Who knew that after receiving a Psychology degree from a University and working random jobs that payed me up to $16/hr., I would work my way down to an internship.
After all, a bachelors degree isn’t worth much nowadays. But experience is GOLDEN. As well as insight. I have an amazing boss and extremely knowledgeable coworkers who make every moment at Viva Swag, such a valuable experience.
I really do dislike cookie cutters and robots. But I LOVE online shopping with personality!
First Time Here…

Hey everyone,
Sorry for the belated introduction! I can’t believe that this is my first time posting on 18interns.com. My name is Jaquita and I’ve been at Viva Swag for about two months, working for the uber-lovely Meadow Stevens aka America’s Sweetheart. The last two months have been pretty awesome for me as I’ve had the pleasure of really delving into several of my not-so-secret passions: fashion, pop culture, and social media. In addition to blogging and updating Meadow’s sites, I’ve also been tweeting and doing what I like to call “celebrity outreach” on our Twitter channel “That’s So Swag”. Collectively, we’ve been able to dialogue with cool celebrities like Miss Universe Claudia Jordan, and Real Housewife of Atlanta, Kim Zolciak, and author Deepak Chopra.
We’ve also been really excited about Viva Swag’s recent development of the world’s first real-time Fashion Search engine, That’s So Swag. The site looks great and the immediacy of the tweets on current trends and info on available products are speed-fire! It’s been a busy last couple weeks for me as well, as I’ll now working from New York for a few months, continuing to blog, tweet, and work with Meadow. The weather isn’t nearly as nice as Glendale, but the pace of the city is definitely enough to keep me on my toes*!
Till next time,
Jaquita
*Plus it’s Fashion Week in New York, so I’m surrounded by all of it…in the fashion capital of the world!
Love me… hate me…

Things are crazier than they’ve ever been lately… If I’m not at church (my peace) or busting my butt in the gym (my release) then I’m probably at work (my passion) or at home doing homework (my… I don’t really have a word to describe school right now). But, through all the chaos and confusion, I am so very much at peace. Church is church, my faith is my faith and it grows as I grow. As far as the gym is concerned… they recently put up a poster of Terrell Owens promoting his new television show. The man is in such awesome shape. Every time I look at the poster, I just feel motivated to bust my butt even harder. I walk out of the gym sore as hell, barely able to move or breath and feel like I’m about to throw up… I think I’m doing something right. Now if I can just get my damn diet under control then maybe one day I’ll look like TO… or better… School has become so trivial for me… I mean I’m glad I’m in school and I enjoy it, but it seems like in week one I’m already wishing it was week 5 (classes are five weeks long). I love what I’m studying, but the more I decide what I want to do with my life the more I want to have the degree out of the way already. As far as work… I couldn’t be happier. I’ve honestly got the best job… and boss… in the world. I just wish I could offer more than what I’m doing. I realize now why Rico hired me… we’re so alike… perfectionists… always wanting more… always striving to be better… the best! And both of us aren’t afraid to tell you… we are the best. Not that we don’t have things to learn… for example Rico’s apparently chasing after Kim Kardashian, while I wouldn’t touch her with a ten foot pole and I on the other hand have my own share of issues on women I shouldn’t love. Rico is the man though… as arrogant and self centered as he is, at the end of the day he’s a cool guy who just wants to succeed in this crazy world. He talks trash to those he loves, but I know he’d never cut anybody’s throat just to get ahead. He’s going to do what he has to in order to succeed overall, but he won’t back down on his principles to do so. I think that’s awesome. I’m the same way. Most of all, neither of us will stop being who we are to please ANYBODY. Our motto (and this really has become our motto)… “Love me or hate me, you’re still talkin bout me and that’s ALL that matters!”
Good food, good times!

I am officially no longer a newbie here at Viva Swag, having been here almost a month. :) Fredrica has actually been pretty great to work for, aside from minor crises here and there. Last week she was hosting a party at her restaurant and the power went out, spoiling all the food, so I had to help get all new food in and prepared ASAP for the celebration. All tuned out well, however, and Fredrica even invited me to join the party!
I certainly have not had a lack of good food since I’ve started working at Viva Swag. We’ve been sampling some of the items from our various vendors, such as various cheeses and chocolates. Yum! The other interns seem to be doing really well, getting along with their bosses, and I’m learning tons from them! I also feel like Fredrica is really opening up to me and giving me more responsibility, which is great. Hoping to start getting secret cooking tips soon!
So I have been working as Farrah’s assistant for over 2 months now and it’s been great. Yes she maybe a little needy, a tad bossy and very over dramatic ( I don’t know why she never got into the film industry, she would have been perfect) but she is getting me ready for the real world. Aren’t all bosses like that in some way, shape or form? And I hope to be one someday. I have been working around the clock to pick just the right accessories to make Farrah look good and when I thought she didn’t notice BOOM Farrah did something I never thought she would. First she took me out to lunch at a very hip and trendy Beverly Hills restaurant and then during the meal she reached into one of her many shopping bag and pulled out a gift box. I was stunned! She told me what a great job I was doing and that I deserve a gift. I opened the box to find an Alexander McQueen Clutch! OMG!! I have been dying over this fabulous clutch since I had posted it on Vivaswag.com. She continued to tell me that since I was doing such a great job on making her not look bad by picking ugly accessories she wanted to promote me to affiliate manager!! YAY!! So now I work twice as much with the same pay but I believe it will soon pay off….I hope. And did I mention I love my job!
Thanks Farrah!! I won’t let you down.
Happy Birthday to me…
Jun 23
Well, it’s been over a month since a blinding migraine lead me to write a not so up beat post about where I was at the time. It’s three days until my birthday and I can honestly say I’ve never been happier. I LOVE MY JOB! How many people can honestly say that? How many people can also honestly say that they KNOW they’re good at what they do? Unless I’m living in some delusional world where I totally don’t get it, I firmly believe that I AM good at what is being asked of me. I remember the days where I’d make up some pathetic excuse not to come into work, because I was miserable at what I was doing, but now I’m actually excited on the days I work. So much so that when I am feeling out of it, I get upset that I’m not capable of giving my 100%, but who am I kidding, I’m still twice the man that most are at half the man I normally am… maybe that’s why Rico and I get along so well… that mixed with our Latin passion and our unbridled despise of the one they call the Black Mamba (Kobe Bryant). I was lucky enough to be “chosen” as a guest when Rico had the Laker game party and I tell you what, the boy knows how to throw a party. Oh sure, I was the one running around buying all the party favors, but it was all worth it when I arrived and there I was face to face with some of the most beautiful woman on the face of the earth. As I scoped the area, I was immediately stopped by Rico who said “no amigo, none of these ladies are for you”. Of course I thought he was blocking me, but he then lead me to the back when I was face to face with someone I had been DYING to meet. I HAD AN AWESOME TIME AT THE PARTY!
I feel like I just won an Oscar. Let me explain why:
One fine day a couple of weeks ago Fredrica ran into someone she absolutely adored. Shirley was her name and it was a love affair from the get go. They are both petite and extremely well educated so they hit it off right away. Where and how they met is a mystery to me but as soon as they got to talking they discovered that they had both traveled the world and as a result had become desperate francophiles.
It wasn’t long before my stuff was on the door step but as luck would have it that very same afternoon Cleo got into a fight with her assistant (between you and me some of Cleo’s diva washed off onto her assistant and of course that didn’t fly with Cleo). Cleo, being the lazy star that she is, saw me cleaning out my stuff and decided to skip the whole looking for a new assistant process and hired me!
So my wildest dreams have come true and I didn’t even have to break someone’s knee. I’m in charge of the apparel category and I’m still moonlighting for Farrah. So far, Cleo has had high expectations but of course my offerings have been more than satisfactory.
Until the next drama,
Your overly thankful Oscar Winner

Hello everybody!
I wanted to introduce myself — I’m Shirley, the new intern working for Fredrica Delacroix. Today is my third day and the other interns have made me feel really welcome so far and have been great about showing me the ropes. I’ve had random sightings of some of the celebrity bosses and I have to say — they pretty much live up to my expectations, with a few twists. Rico is indeed as good looking as people say and Cleopatra’s fashion sense is impeccable. Meadow is one of the more patient bosses, but she does seem to have a bit of a dark side — trying to figure out what’s really going on.
It’s been interesting so far to work with Fredrica and I wanted to comment a bit about my experience with her so far. On my first day, she was pretty intimidating. I consider myself a foodie, but Fredrica is a food connossier and she makes it known. She is also somewhat of a perfectionist, so I have to triple check all of my work before I show it to her, otherwise all hell breaks loose. I have heard rumors of her expertise in the kitchen though, so I’m hoping I will warm up to her and she might share some culinary secrets with me. I’m still undecided about the rumors of her being from Alabama, but every once in a while, I could swear I hear her saying “Ya’all!”
All right, better get back to work because Fredrica has some deadlines today. Happy Friday!
Sports and life
Jun 11
I was just wondering that with all of the hoop la that is going on with sports right now if Ms. Meadow Stevens is into sports. I wouldn’t think so, since she is all about being girly, but I honestly don’t know, because she is the same person that was stuck shooting a movie in the rain and not complaining at all. I don’t know, because there are other celebrities like Meg Ryan who was also considered America’s sweetheart at some point in her life, and I have never seen her play sports. Anyways, I would ask Ms. Stevens but I don’t want to seem nosey, and what does it really matter anyways. I am just happy that the Lakers are in the Finals, and that they beat Orlando twice. I just know that if they play hard they could win the finals.
On a more annoying level, when -oh -when is this economy going to get better. I speak of this now, because college graduation is among us, and people have graduated and are graduating, and are entering the workforce with minimal prospects. I know people who are graduating, and who have decided to go for their masters in school instead of entering the workforce in hopes of the economy getting better in a couple of years. But people who either can’t go back to school or don’t want to have to endure the struggles of struggling college grads, and it sucks.
